We Four in Egypt

Now back in the US!

Internet restoration

The Internet here is zipping along this morning, probably because much of Cairo is praying or sleeping on a Friday morning. Last night I went to Google News to find out what’s been going on (Google seemed to be working better than some other sites, maybe because they have servers all over the world). It seems this slowdown has reverberated throughout the Middle East and into India, all because a ship hit a cable under the Mediterranean. So much for world wide web.

The New York Times Lede blog has a interesting, short piece on the slowdown in Cairo, if you’re interested.
